Settlement Grants Program
The Australian Government, through the Settlement Grants Program, funds services which help migrants become self reliant and participate equitably in Australian society as soon as possible after arrival. These services are directed towards permanent residents who have arrived in the last five years as humanitarian entrants or as family stream migrants with low English proficiency, communities needing assistance to develop capacity to meet their needs that are receiving significant numbers of new arrivals, and dependants of skilled migrants in rural and regional areas who have low English proficiency. A list of organisations and their services to migrants is available online, as well as application information for organisations wishing to take part.
